Playing in the Rain

When was the last time you took the time to actually play in the rain - twirl an umbrella and play princess? As a mum of two boys let me say - It has been way too long time since i took a moment to do this! It is SOOOO much fun!

This past weekend I got to meet up with a wonderful family, we played in the rain, twirled our umbrella's and played princess.

And at the end of it all- the little princesses were a little tired but at least the carriage didn't turn into a pumpkin!

Cheers

Family Joy! I HMH PHOTOGRAPHY I Durham Region, Whitby, Family, Engement, Wedding, Photographer

Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.
~Henry Van Dyke

On Saturday, October 17, 2009 my baby brother will be getting married! I guess the joys of their being an substantial age gap between the two of us is that I seen him grow into a wonderful kind hearted man! Who would have thought that the kid I used to drive to Karate class every Thursday would be getting married! How nice it will be to have another female in the family! Welcome to the Family Andria and Lilix.

Since I will be in the wedding party it will be a little difficult to photograph the wedding! but i would place money on the fact that my camera with be there! LOL!

Last weekend I had the great joy of doing an Engagement Session for the soon to be Mr. & Mrs. here is a sneak peek - Andrea and Kevin - check you email!

Is that Really the Sun? ! I HMH PHOTOGRAPHY I Durham Region, Whitby, Maternity, Newborn, Family Photographer

Is my backyard finally dry! Is it really no longer a swamp! What is that yellow thing up in the sky and that warm feeling on my skin? Is it? Can it really be - the SUN?

What another beautiful way to celebrate the sun than spend the morning at the beach with a beautiful family! Leigh-Anne - check your email for your gallery username and password. It was truly a pleasure meeting your beautiful family. I had a blast playing in the sand and water with all of you.

Here is a sneak peek! Enjoy!

Mini Shoot Sneak Peek I HMH PHOTOGRAPHY I Durham Region, Whitby, Maternity, Newborn, Family Photographer

We had a little mini session this week - and boy did we have fun - we proved once and for all "GIRLS DO PLAY HOCKEY - AND THEY LOOK PRETTY CUTE DOING IT!"

It has also been a long time since i did a mini session with my two wee men - can anyone tell me when they grew up - it seems that overnight they all of a sudden lost that "baby look!" I know they are supposed to do this but honest I wish that there was a pause button. for just a wee bit a least.

With Father's Day tomorrow I just wanted to take this opportunity to say to all the dad's out there - especially mine dad and my wonderful husband - we would not be the people we are today if it was not for wonderful dad's like you out there!

Graduation and Coming of Age I HMH PHOTOGRAPHY I Durham Region, Whitby, Maternity, Newborn, Family, Graduation Photographer

Over the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to photograph the Confirmation Class from St. Bridget's Catholic School as well as a special photo for the Graduating Class.

How wonderful to be venturing into the Church Community as an Adult and how scary to be entering the world of High School! Do you remember being a "Minor Niner"? I can still feel the anxiety and apprehension this long after the fact.

You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own.
And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go - Dr. Seuss

Here are two of my favorite shots (have to say they strike a special cord in my heart!).

Generations I HMH PHOTOGRAPHY I Durham Region, Whitby, Maternity, Newborn, Family Photographer

Each generation goes further than the generation preceding it because it stands on the shoulders of that generation. You will have opportunities beyond anything we've ever known.
Ronald Reagan

Last weekend I was asked to come and capture 4 generations of strong beautiful women. I feel truly blessed to be a part of such a special day and all too often rare occasion.

I have been asked a number of times why generations photo are’s my favourite - simple - growing up i was blessed to be very close with my Mum, Granny, Gran and my Great Grandmother (Supergran), now with just my mother and one grandmother i find myself grasping at the threads of the past to remember stories to tell my boys as they get older. I am always telling my boys just how lucky they are to have known my granny and to still have my gran, two of my grandfather’s (granda and papa) and my husband’s grandmother (Great Grandma) to draw on for glimpses of the past.
Saying this – take this opportunity to capture those family photo’s that you have always thought about getting – the time is now!

HMH Photography will be offering a free 11x14 print with any session that involves generations of a family. Valid from June 1, 2009 - August 31, 2009.

Till we chat again,
