Babee Clipeez

As many of you know I am a member of a wonderful Mom's Chat Board and so very often mom's are "giving birth" to new businesses. The other week I was introduced to Sara from Babee Clipeez - and let me tell you I so wish I had a wee girl to put these beautiful Clipeez in her hair - somehow I think the boys would get some funny looks with pink clipeez in their hair!

Sara is currently a stay-at-home mom to a beautiful girl. She has always enjoyed crafts and has prided herself at being very thrifty! When she decided that her little one's out of control hair needed some clips to tame it she decided to make my own.

Because of the quality and beautiful product friends started asking for them... and even better wanting pay for them! Thus Babee Clipeez was born...

Each of the clips are made by hand with 1 3/4'' alligator clips. They have a no-slip insert to prevent them from slipping out of even the finest hair! They are great for babies and young girls. there are many beautiful designs to choose from and if you don't find exactly what you are looking for Sara will even hunt down any style or pattern you need or want.

Feel free to Email Sara at clipeez@live.ca for more information

The Good Ol' Hockey Game

Hockey captures the essence of Canadian experience in the New World.
In a land so inescapably and inhospitably cold, hockey is the chance of
life, and an affirmation that despite the deathly chill of winter we are
alive.
~Stephen Leacock

I never thought I of all people would be a "Hockey Mom" but here I am 12 months into my induction into this wonderful and exciting world. I can't wait till this Saturday at 7:00 AM I get the opportunity to photograph all the kids from our boys hockey league - that's 400+ kids - so if you don't hear from me over the next few weeks - I am OK - I am just busing editing and getting all those smiling faced photo's back to all the hockey mom's and dad's out there. Feel free to take pity on my hubby and kids - they may need fed!

Game On!

Heather
Ok I have been really bad the past few weeks - I have neglected my blog for a bit - but I have a good excuse - HMH Photography have been crazy busy. I think my kids have even forgotten what I look like to be honest. But It has been worth it - I have met so many wonderful families and forged some lasting relationships.

Here is a quick look at some of the special smiles we have captured over the past few weeks.

Enjoy,

Heather

It is far too warm to be FALL!

Who would think that on Thanksgiving weekend we would be in capri's and light tops. We had a very busy weekend - on Saturday we had dinner with my Mum, Dad, Brother's and their families - it is just amazing that a family that once was 5 is now 10 people strong! On Sunday we went to my Mother In Law's and the boys had a blast on the ATV and playing in the Corn Field (good thing they have never seen Children of the Corn) then on Monday we went to my Father In Laws and went to the Norwood Fair with my Brother In Law and his family - I think Logan is still recovering from the Avalanche Ride!

Thought I would share some moments I captured over the weekend.

Reminder to all my wonderful clients - Christmas is going to be upon us real soon - time is running out for those wonderful Family Photos - great insert for the Christmas Cards and for Christmas Presents.

The Joy of Friends who become Family

“There are the families that we are born into, and there are the families that we choose our circle of friends. While their faces may change over the course of our lives, the joy they bring us remains constant.”

Today I am given the task of editing family photo's for our dear family friends the MacArthur's. Who would have thought that all those years ago when I was a Brownie the leader I often clung to would become such a close family friend. Kevin and Sue have been there for us through many ups and downs! Weddings, baby showers, births and even funerals. True friends like this are priceless. I find it hard to remember changing diapers for the three boys at one time or another - and now - they are all taller than me.

Sue - here is a quick peak - will be sending you your client gallery information real soon.

Bejeweled & Bedazzled

I had the pleasure of meeting Kathleen Kroeger of Bejeweled & Bedazzled in November of last year when we participated in a fundraiser for my kids school. From the first moment I was a fan! I only wish I could knit (or sew for that matter) to showcase her product. I am sure once you have a look - you too will fall in love.

Kathleen Kroeger of Buttons/Jewellery by Bejeweled & Bedazzled in Toronto(www.bejeweled-bedazzled.ca), creates beautiful fused glass buttons and jewellery that will lift your garments to a new level. Kathleen, who had to give up her law career after undergoing treatment for breast cancer, has not only turned her energies toward creating wearable (and nearly unbreakable!) works of art; she is also helping others with the proceeds. Kathleen has created a limited-edition Pink Ribbon Cell Phone Strap and is using money from the sales to fund her participation in October's Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure.

Babys First BOO

I have to say - I was never one for pink and frills! maybe that is because I have two boys! but I think even if my boys had been girls - they would have been tomboys and would have loved playing in the dirt as much as I did! Why when I had my boys was it that we didn't have access to fun and funky clothing, and if we could find it you paid a very high price for it. Saying that I am proud to introduce you to Jacquie and Baby's First Boo!

As an only child, I started sewing and knitting to keep myself entertained. In the 80s, my pink hair actually made me a freak and I made all my bizarre punk clothes so following high school, the Creative Fashion Design Course at George Brown College was only logical for me. Somewhere along the way I also became fascinated with all things horror. Starting with peeking through my fingers at the first Halloween movies and being a regular at the Rocky Horror Picture Show, it has escalated to the point where I now have wonderfully creepy images tattooed all over my body.

Baby's First BOO! was hatched in late 2006 when many friends bearing new bundles of wet diapers had me in the baby aisles regularly hunting for gifts. Nauseated by the barrage of bunny, train and princess themes, I decided it was time to fuse my loves of horror and crafts. We carry reusable cloth diapers, cloth wipes and receiving blankets all in 100% cotton flannel and a collection of 100% cotton sweaters and 100% wool hats. Diaper bags, blankets and quilts will be coming soon! I personally make all of the items and they, of course, have a BOO! scary theme. Nothing cutesy, nothing pukesy, just handmade frights for your favourite little demon...

Jump on over to Baby's First Boo! and have a Boo! http://babysfirstboo.net/shop/page/1?shop_param==

Till next time

Communicating with our babies is such a wonderful way to spend the day! What a joy to see those little eyes light up and interact with us.

The Fun of Summer

Summer afternoon - Summer afternoon... the two most beautiful words in the English language. Henry James

Oh the joys of a fun filled summer day - boy do I miss playing tag and just having fun - this week mother nature has given us a break from the rain and blessed us with some beautiful summer days - my nose is even pink from the sun!

As I sat on my back patio (camera in hand as always) I was close to tears watching the kids play and laugh - those great belly laughs that as adults we have forgotten how to do!

Making a fort out of the towels - playing with water guns - getting mummy with the hose and being 100% shattered at the end of the day! Memories to have for a lifetime!

Cheers

Breathe Natural Bath and Body Products

Last Christmas I had the great pleasure to work along side with Jill from Breathe Natural Bath and Body Products Inc.

As I have had an ongoing battle with eczema (that no longer responds to medication) I ventured along the "natural path" for much needed results. Within the first day I saw amazing results with the use of Body Salve .

As a Mompreneur I love having the opportunity to help showcase fellow Mompreneur's.

So a little about Breathe Natural Bath and Body Products Inc. "I strive to make products with natural ingredients and we only use natural fragrances in the form of Essential Oils. Weekend filled with Love

On a personal note - this past Saturday was our 11th Wedding Anniversary - where has the time gone - looking back on the past 11 years of marriage - I have to say (although cliche) I am truly married to my best friend! Thank you Randy for supporting me through thick and think. You have made every moment a memory and I am truly blessed.

What a better way to celebrate love than spend the day with friends and family, making new friends all for great cause - The Hospital for Sick Kids Foundation - Grass Park BBQ in Brooklin - It was just amazing to see so many people coming together support such a worthy cause. It has been said "Donors don't give to institutions. They invest in ideas and people in whom they believe." - G.T. Smith. I can't think of a better cause to invest in.

Here are just a few of the Happy Faces enjoying the fun and sun that Saturday had to offer!

Thursday Mini Session

I have to start by saying how lucky I am to have such a supportive family - without them I don't know if I would have the dreams I have - they have all truly made me the person I am proud to be. A few years ago my mum had a business doing wedding flowers (it was a great connection when I got married 11 years ago tomorrow!) To make a long story short mum made up some beautiful floral head pieces - I forgot what a great job she did - brought tears to my eyes to be honest. I look forward to using the head pieces in upcomming shoots - in the meantime we had a mini-session with a sweet yet camera shy wee girl!

Gearing up for a busy weekend - I have will be photographing the Sick Kids Hospital Foundation Fundraiser BBQ in Brooklin this weekend at the Grass Park - Stop by for some fun (looks like Mother Nature will be giving us some Sun!).

Take Care and Talk To You Soon

What A Weekend

Finally i have a moment to compose my thoughts ...

As many of you know I am a member of DURHAM MOMMIES, which in my humble opinion is the BEST online mommies board around - great fun, laughter and support. This weekend I was very grateful to be asked to help capture the moments of their First Annual BBQ - and even the rain couldn't keep the fun and laughter at bay! Can't wait for the next get together. I have to say Durham Mommies make some BEAUTIFUL Durham Babies! If you have not yet had an opportunity to join - come on over and jump right in http://z9.invisionfree.com/Durham_Mommies/index.php

This weekend our family was also lucky enough to celebrate my husband's Grandmother's 89th Birthday - what a joy it was to see all the family and boy it was funny to realize that they ALL have the same laugh!

I found it extra special to stand back and watch Grandma Haug look around the room and see all her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren - I am only imagine the pride she was feeling.

Here is to many more birthdays and happy family memories!

Best Wishes
